Patna, March 15 (NationPress) The Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, fiercely criticized Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday, accusing him of a significant failure in preserving law and order within the state.
“Criminals are wreaking havoc across Bihar while the government remains oblivious. The Chief Minister appears to be in a state of unawareness, and lawlessness is at an all-time high. Even police personnel are falling prey to crime,” he remarked, pointing out the murder incidents in Munger and Araria districts over the past week.
The Rashtriya Janata Dal leader questioned CM Nitish Kumar, who also oversees the Home Ministry of Bihar, stating: “Recurrent crimes such as murders, rapes, gang rapes, thefts from jewelry stores, banks, and more are rampant, with victims' families denied justice.”
He charged that the investigations led by the state Police are inadequate, causing criminals to obtain bail due to insufficient evidence.
Furthermore, he accused leaders from the ruling parties of neglecting to visit the families of victims to offer condolences.
“In spite of serious crimes taking place, leaders from the ruling parties are not even reaching out to the victims' families. Nitish Kumar is solely focused on retaining his Chief Minister position, rather than ensuring good governance,” Yadav stated.
The murder of Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Santosh Kumar Singh in Munger has sparked political controversy, with the Opposition blaming CM Nitish Kumar for the state's declining law and order.
ASI Santosh Kumar Singh suffered severe injuries during a clash with villagers in Munger and passed away on Saturday morning.

Consequently, a 'DIAL 112' team, headed by ASI Santosh Kumar Singh, was dispatched to handle the situation.
Upon the ASI's arrival and intervention, Ranveer, Guddu, and their family members assaulted the police team with sharp weapons, inflicting serious skull injuries on Santosh Kumar Singh.
