Patna, May 19 (NationPress) Former Deputy Chief Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav fiercely criticized Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday, attributing the deteriorating law and order in the state to his leadership.
Referencing incidents of mob violence in Sasaram and Bhagalpur, Yadav stated, “Bihar is engulfed in chaos, including the capital. No district remains unaffected by crime. Criminals act without fear, while the government remains utterly indifferent. It’s evident that Nitish Kumar is incapable of effectively governing the state.”
He accused the government of failing to address the escalating crime rate. “Business owners are being targeted and killed in various districts. Has there been even a single meeting regarding law and order? None. The focus is solely on elections, neglecting the safety of the populace,” Yadav claimed.
Moreover, he suggested that Nitish Kumar is being misled by bureaucrats. “He is given pre-written speeches to deliver at public events. He conducts inspections, visits infrastructure, and then leaves — all show, no substance,” he remarked.
Tejashwi downplayed the importance of the earlier meeting between LJP (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan and Nitish Kumar.
“This is their affair. Their only agenda now is to attack Lalu Prasad and me. Whenever I speak, they resurrect the Bihar of pre-2005, as if the past matters more than the present,” he noted.
Calling for a more progressive approach, he added, “A person born in 2005 is now 20 years old. Let’s concentrate on their future rather than clinging to outdated narratives.”
Tejashwi’s comments emerge amid escalating political conflicts following violent assaults on police teams in Sasaram (Rohtas) and Bhagalpur. In both incidents, mobs targeted law enforcement during local operations, resulting in several officers being injured and necessitating emergency reinforcements.
With the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections approaching, opposition parties are intensifying their criticism of the NDA-led government, particularly regarding the state’s deteriorating law and order situation.
