Tejashwi Yadav Slams Nitish Kumar for Governance Failures
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Patna, April 11 (NationPress) Tejashwi Yadav, the Opposition Leader in Bihar and the National Working President of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), launched a fierce critique against the state government on Saturday, accusing it of a total collapse in governance and law enforcement.
During a felicitation event hosted by the minority wing of RJD in Patna, Tejashwi Yadav stated that as Bihar grapples with significant challenges, the administration under Nitish Kumar remains fixated on clinging to power.
He condemned the current political dialogue, asserting that discussions revolve solely around who will be the next Chief Minister, while critical public concerns are being overlooked.
Tejashwi claimed that violent crimes, including murders and offenses against women, are on the rise, instilling fear within the community.
“Murders are occurring in broad daylight, youths are being decapitated in Araria, and young people are distressed due to unemployment, yet those in power show no concern,” he remarked.
In reference to the event, Tejashwi mentioned that it was part of an initiative previously set forth by RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, which included similar outreach efforts.
The RJD leader also questioned the government's operational efficiency, pointing out that there has been no cabinet meeting in the last two months and that no significant policy decisions have been made.
He further slammed the double-engine government, alleging that despite having support at both the state and central levels, governance has worsened.
Addressing key issues, Tejashwi highlighted unemployment, educational deficiencies, and inadequate healthcare systems, claiming that hospitals are experiencing shortages of medicines and essential facilities.
He also made serious political allegations, stating that the current setup in Bihar resulted from political pressure and compromises, suggesting that it was established to evade scrutiny from agencies like the ED and CBI.
However, he asserted that the identity of the Chief Minister is inconsequential to him, emphasizing that the current government lacks a true public mandate.
Tejashwi Yadav’s statements have escalated the political tension in Bihar, contributing to the ongoing exchange of barbs between the ruling coalition and the opposition.
