Patna, June 19 (NationPress) The Leader of Opposition in Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav, criticized the government led by Nitish Kumar following a shooting incident that left a young man in critical condition in Patna's high-security zone.
The shooting occurred outside the official residence of Bihar Minister Ashok Chaudhary, in proximity to the homes of the Governor, Chief Minister, a High Court judge, and the Leader of the Opposition.
This area also serves as a common route for the Chief Minister, highlighting the seriousness of the security breach.
In a pointed response, Tejashwi Yadav remarked that a crime transpired right outside his residence. “Under the NDA's demonic rule, criminals, shielded by the government, operate without fear. In this high-security zone—close to Raj Bhavan, the CM’s residence, the Leader of the Opposition’s residence, and even the airport—dangerous criminals are committing crimes openly,” he stated.
He sarcastically added, “Caution! What if this is termed Jungle Raj? By the way, the Prime Minister is visiting Bihar tomorrow, and the Godi Media must keep a positive narrative.”
Amid rising anxiety, senior police officials swiftly arrived at the scene.
The area was secured, and CCTV footage is currently being reviewed to track down the suspects.
The injured youth was transported to the hospital, where his condition remains critical.
Ironically, this incident transpired mere hours before the newly appointed SSP of Patna, Kartikeya Kumar Sharma, assumed his role.
Sharma, who was transferred from Purnea, has been brought in specifically to address the deteriorating law and order situation in the state capital.
Upon taking office, SSP Sharma declared: “Law and order will be stringently enforced. There will be zero tolerance for crime, and anyone violating the law will face severe repercussions.”
Nevertheless, the bold crime that unfolded just prior to his official tenure presents an early challenge for the new SSP, with concerns already being raised about police visibility and patrolling in even the most sensitive areas.
