Patna, May 22 (NationPress) RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has fiercely criticized the Nitish government following a shooting incident that occurred during a cricket tournament prize distribution ceremony in Patna.
Three people were injured by gunfire and subsequently required hospitalization at Patna AIIMS on Wednesday night.
Political unrest has escalated with accusations directed at rebel Congress MLA Siddharth from Bikram and two accomplices.
Tejashwi remarked, "If the government can't apprehend a small mouse, how can it capture criminals? Crime has completely taken over Bihar. Police brutality is rampant, and there is no one to hold them responsible."
He criticized the state police for targeting innocent individuals while allowing real offenders to go unpunished.
"Women are facing harassment, and innocent citizens are being summoned to police stations only to be assaulted, while actual criminals remain at large," he asserted.
Tejashwi further claimed, "Nitish Kumar is oblivious to reality. The current state of Bihar is exceedingly poor,"
In a renewed political confrontation, Tejashwi called out Health Minister Mangal Pandey regarding the dismal state of Bihar's healthcare system.
"I am prepared for a debate at any time and any place. Just give me a day’s notice. Mangal Pandey doesn’t even speak in the sacred space of democracy—the Vidhan Sabha. What kind of debate can he offer?" Tejashwi questioned.
He also condemned Pandey for the alarming state of the healthcare system following a shocking incident where a patient's hand was chewed by rats at Nalanda Medical College and Hospital, the second-largest government hospital in Patna.
Awadesh Prasad, a differently-abled individual from Nalanda, underwent surgery at NMCH on Saturday, only to wake up to find his fingers bitten by rats while he was resting in bed.
Tejashwi's comments arise amidst ongoing criticism from the opposition regarding the substandard healthcare infrastructure and law enforcement in Bihar.
