Patna, Sep 12 (NationPress) The Leader of Opposition, Tejashwi Yadav, fiercely criticized the Nitish Kumar-led NDA government on Friday regarding the deteriorating law-and-order situation in Bihar, triggered by two murders in Patna and Khagaria within just 24 hours.
During a press conference, Yadav asserted that the state has seen a significant decline in safety under the NDA administration.
“The streets of Bihar are stained with blood. Homicides are rampant. In Khagaria, even the driver of our MLA was shot on Thursday night. Previously, a similar event took place in Patna when a leader from RJD was killed. The government remains oblivious while crime escalates systematically. The orchestration of these crimes is taking place from the residence of the Deputy Chief Minister. Criminals have now taken on the roles of Samrat and Vijay,” Yadav claimed.
The RJD leader also highlighted rampant corruption, asserting it has permeated every tier of the system.
“Millions are being seized from the residences of engineers. Corruption flourishes from police stations and block offices to high-ranking officials,” he stated.
Yadav criticized Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary for his questionable comments that connected a murder in Raghopur to political gains.
“A murder has occurred, and rather than seeking justice, the Deputy CM is questioning who stands to gain politically. This reflects the vile and disgraceful mindset of those in power. Such individuals should not hold the position of Deputy Chief Minister,” Yadav remarked.
“If he is genuinely concerned about Raghopur, let the Prime Minister himself come and contest against me,” he added.
Addressing the controversy surrounding the AI-generated video released by the Congress, which NDA leaders claimed insulted mothers, Yadav dismissed the BJP’s backlash.
“I haven’t viewed the video, but it’s evident they are diverting attention from crucial issues like crime, corruption, and unemployment. The BJP has disrespected women more than anyone. Just remember PM Modi's remarks about Sonia Gandhi or his mockery of Nitish Kumar’s DNA. There can be no greater insult than that,” Yadav stated.
Outlining his next steps, Yadav declared a new yatra across Bihar.
“We will now visit the 16 districts that were missed during the Voter Adhikar Yatra. This new journey will take us to those regions,” he mentioned.
In response to the upcoming visits by PM Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, and JP Nadda to Bihar, the RJD leader remarked that their visits were purely political.
“Now that elections are approaching, they will come. But once the elections conclude, they will forget about Bihar again,” he stated.
