Patna, Feb 17 (NationPress) The Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Yadav launched a fierce critique against Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, likening him to an outdated vehicle that needs replacement.

"He (Nitish Kumar) has turned into an obsolete model, one that is no longer required. Bihar is in need of a new model -- Tejashwi," he stated while addressing a public assembly in Sitamarhi district of Bihar on Monday.

Tejashwi mocked Nitish Kumar's lengthy governance, equating it to the rule that considers vehicles older than 15 years as junk that must be discarded.

The RJD leader emphasized that Bihar requires a new beginning, asserting: "Nitish Kumar is exhausted now. Bihar demands a fresh thinker and a new brand of ideas."

During the commemoration of Karpuri Thakur's death anniversary in Sonbarsa block of Sitamarhi, Tejashwi criticized the Nitish Kumar administration on several counts.

He condemned the government for its inability to provide employment, leading many Biharis to seek work elsewhere. The RJD leader alleged that corruption in government offices and police stations is widespread and that incidents of violence against women have surged. He also noted that the liquor prohibition law has utterly failed in Bihar.

“The liquor ban exists solely on paper, as it remains readily available at exorbitant prices. A bottle of liquor that was once priced at Rs 200 is now sold for Rs 1000,” Yadav remarked.

He also lauded his father, Lalu Prasad Yadav, predicting that those who previously disparaged him would eventually honor him with the Bharat Ratna for uplifting the poor, Dalits, and marginalized groups.

Tejashwi remembered past social inequalities, stating that Dalits and lower castes were historically denied basic rights, but Lalu stood up for their dignity.

"If you grant me the opportunity, I will deliver financial stability and social justice, and halt migration from Bihar," he promised.

With elections approaching, Tejashwi Yadav’s comments indicate a direct challenge to Nitish Kumar’s authority, positioning himself as the emblem of Bihar’s future.
