Patna, Jan 22 (NationPress) The Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, has launched a vigorous critique of the Bihar NDA government and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, promising to reassess significant issues such as the liquor ban and pledging to implement reforms if his party secures power.
Tejashwi was in Arrah, Bihar, for the Karyakarta Darshan sah Samvad Yatra on Wednesday.
In response to the recent tragedy in West Champaran, where six individuals lost their lives due to consuming counterfeit liquor, Yadav condemned the government's approach to managing such crises.
“Whenever there are deaths from toxic liquor, the administration focuses on obscuring the facts instead of taking effective action. It’s all about whitewashing,” Tejashwi stated.
When questioned about reconsidering the state's prohibition policy, Tejashwi remarked, “This matter will be thoroughly evaluated, and any decisions will be communicated later.”
Tejashwi reaffirmed his dedication to delivering on 100 percent of the commitments made to the populace, highlighting initiatives like the ‘Mai Behan Maan Yojana’ and relief from inflated smart meter charges.
“Our administration will prioritize providing genuine benefits to the public,” Tejashwi assured.
The LoP criticized the deteriorating law and order situation in Bihar, stating, “Criminal incidents have surged significantly, and the government remains unresponsive. There is utter chaos in the state.”
Tejashwi accused Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of being out of touch with ground realities, adding, “The so-called Pragati Yatra is faltering. Nitish Kumar is seeking progress in his own troubled era while traversing Bihar.”
Tejashwi took a jab at the Chief Minister, commenting on his age and governance approach.
“Nitish Kumar is now weary and is managing the government based on counsel from retired officials. He lacks a vision for Bihar’s future,” he expressed.
Tejashwi also denounced CM Kumar’s recent remarks regarding women, labeling them as “shameful” and detrimental to Bihar's national image.
Addressing the escalating issue of paper leaks, he criticized the NDA government’s incompetence.
“Whether it’s matriculation or BPSC exams, leaks occur consistently. This demonstrates the government’s failure to ensure fairness and accountability,” he stated, echoing the demands of protesting students.
