Patna, Jan 29 (NationPress) Bihar's Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Tejashwi Yadav on Wednesday criticized Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha for his allegations suggesting that Yadav was involved in financial misconduct during the Grand Alliance government.
“If I have committed any wrongdoing, the BJP government should take action against me. However, they must also be ready to face repercussions in the future,” said the Bihar LoP.
He further noted that NDA leaders seem to be competing to see who can criticize him or his father, Lalu Prasad Yadav, more fervently.
Yadav observed that despite being the Deputy Chief Minister, Sinha appears to lack significant authority within his party and the state government.
“He has attained the position of Deputy Chief Minister, but he may not even believe it himself. He is neither valued by Samrat Choudhary nor Nitish Kumar,” Yadav remarked.
Regarding the incident involving Bhagalpur MP Ajay Mandal, who reportedly assaulted a local journalist, Yadav expressed his dismay over Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's inaction.
He pointed out that Kumar remained a mere spectator when there were 200 rounds of gunfire in Mokama or when his party's MP allegedly attacked a journalist. Yadav also raised alarm over the escalating crime rates in the state and criticized both union and state ministers for defending Nitish Kumar.
Previously, Deputy Chief Minister Sinha made serious allegations against Tejashwi Yadav, claiming financial irregularities totaling ₹26.16 crores in the Road Construction Department during Yadav's term as Deputy Chief Minister.
Tejashwi Yadav also held the Road and Construction Ministry portfolio in the Grand Alliance government.
The alleged irregularities are specifically linked to projects under Path Pramandal Gaya, involving the construction of three roads: Wajirganj-Tapovan Path (19.18 km), Jamua-Sevatar Path (17.5 km), and Bhinds-Chamandih Path (21.3 km).
