Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Patna, Jan 1 (NationPress) In Bihar, the ruling Janata Dal (United) has urged for the current crackdown on land mafia to encompass an examination of the land holdings belonging to Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav.
JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar presented this request to Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, who is also responsible for the Revenue and Land Reforms portfolio.
In reply to this request, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha affirmed that his battle against land mafia in the state would proceed without bias.
“Should JD(U) leaders submit a formal request during his public interaction events, the department and the government will undoubtedly consider it and investigate the land assets of the former Chief Minister,” Sinha stated while engaging with media representatives in Patna on Thursday.
In light of the ongoing Bungalow controversy involving Rabri Devi, Neeraj Kumar consistently raises concerns regarding the land owned by former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav in Patna and various locations throughout Bihar.
Vijay Sinha has initiated a vigorous campaign against land mafia, land brokers, and departmental officials accused of colluding with them.
Since taking over the Revenue and Land Reforms Department, he has mandated ongoing stringent actions, instilling a climate of fear among land grabbers and corrupt officials.
As part of this initiative, the Deputy Chief Minister previously conducted weekly public interaction sessions in Patna, Muzaffarpur, Purnea, and Katihar, where he addressed land-related issues and resolved numerous cases immediately.
During these sessions, several negligent officials have also faced disciplinary measures.
This campaign has reportedly created turmoil among corrupt officials within the department.
Some officials have even written letters requesting intervention from higher authorities, including the Chief Minister and Governor.
Nevertheless, Vijay Sinha remains steadfast, asserting that he will not yield to any pressure and that the fight against land-related corruption will persist vigorously.
