Patna, Sep 27 (NationPress) The political tensions in Bihar have intensified as Tej Pratap Yadav, the founder of Janshakti Janata Dal, vocally criticized Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. He is calling for a legal case against Kumar for allegedly making a derogatory comment about Lalu Prasad Yadav, the leader of RJD.
During a press conference in the Mahua Assembly constituency (Vaishali district), Tej Pratap stated: “Even as Chief Minister, he frequently resorts to abusive language against individuals. He has made multiple derogatory remarks about women previously. We demand that a case be initiated against Nitish Kumar. His reign is over.”
Tej Pratap condemned Nitish for exemplifying poor conduct for public leaders.
“The use of abusive language is inappropriate for any leader, irrespective of their political party. Nitish Kumar has consistently employed such language during his tenure as Chief Minister,” Tej Pratap asserted.
His remarks followed Nitish Kumar's comments at the launch of the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana, where he recalled the political shifts of the 1990s when Lalu Prasad Yadav was ousted as Chief Minister after seven years and subsequently appointed his wife, Rabri Devi, to the role.
During the event, Nitish Kumar remarked: “After Lalu Prasad Yadav was dismissed from Chief Minister, he appointed his wife as the Chief Minister of Bihar.”
This statement elicited strong backlash from the RJD faction, with Tej Pratap viewing it as an affront to his family and demanding 'Central intervention' against the Bihar CM.
Tej Pratap Yadav also took the opportunity to criticize the current MLA for Mahua, Mukesh Roshan, accusing him of neglecting development initiatives.
In a dramatic display, he picked up a stone from a crumbling road to showcase the area’s deteriorating condition.
“The local MLA Mukesh Roshan is ineffective. He has failed to execute any development projects here,” Tej Pratap exclaimed, noting that the road's state illustrates years of disregard.
He further accused Roshan of exploiting development funds, attributing the lack of basic infrastructure and public services in the constituency to his actions.
Tej Pratap, who previously served as an RJD MLA for Mahua in 2015, used this visit to reconnect with constituents amid intensified political activities leading up to the 2025 Assembly elections.
He has already declared his intention to contest the Assembly election in this region.
