Patna, Nov 7 (NationPress) BJP president and Union Minister J.P. Nadda on Friday directed his criticism at the RJD for the alleged “jungle raj” in Bihar, asserting that the opposition party's previous administration was characterized by lawlessness and scams.
Speaking at a rally in the Kalyanpur Assembly constituency of East Champaran district, Nadda stated, “RJD’s governance was synonymous with jungle raj and corruption. Numerous serious criminal incidents and fraudulent activities have plagued Bihar. That was the essence of jungle raj.”
“Do you recall the Shilpi Gautam case? Shilpi's remains were discovered in the vehicle of a close associate of Sadhu Yadav. The police covered up the investigation. Additionally, a Dalit IAS officer, B.B. Biswas, faced horrific incidents where his wife, mother, sister, and maid were assaulted. This case lingered for years, implicating a son of an RJD leader. In Siwan, Chanda Babu was extorted for 2 lakh rupees. When he refused to comply, his two sons were horrifically murdered using acid, while a third son was also killed. The police advised Chanda Babu that if he wished to survive, he should leave Siwan. This paints the reality of Bihar under RJD rule from 1990 to 2005,” Nadda emphasized.
Highlighting the significance of the upcoming Assembly elections, Nadda mentioned his two decades spent in Bihar, observing both the challenges and progress of the state.
Enumerating the achievements of the double-engine government, he noted that consumers now enjoy 125 units of free electricity.
“There was a time when Bihar experienced only two hours of electricity daily; now, the power supply is consistent 24 hours,” he remarked, encouraging residents to take advantage of solar installations under the PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme.
“If your household generates surplus electricity, the government will purchase it, allowing you to earn an income,” Nadda added.
He highlighted advancements in aviation and railway infrastructure, stating, “A decade ago, Darbhanga airport was overlooked, yet now it operates 26 flights. The newly inaugurated international airport in Patna is a significant development, with five more airports under construction. Bihar now accommodates 20 Vande Bharat trains, 26 Amrit stations, and 98 new railway stations are being established,” he explained.
Nadda also discussed the ambitious six-lane highway project linking Raxaul to West Bengal through East Champaran, Sihaul, Samastipur, and Banka, costing Rs 27,000 crore.
He noted the enthusiasm of the crowd as evidence of their commitment to establishing an NDA government on the 14th.
“This election symbolizes the transition from lanterns to LEDs. It's a movement towards endorsing a stable, development-focused government for Bihar,” he asserted.
In discussing health initiatives, Nadda remarked that previously individuals had to sell property for medical expenses; now, under the Ayushman Yojana, 62 crore individuals in India benefit from free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh. Senior citizens over 70 are also covered up to Rs 5 lakh annually.
Regarding women’s empowerment, he stated, “Through the Women’s Employment Scheme, women in Bihar have received Rs 10,000 each. If the NDA government is re-elected, Rs 2 lakh will be deposited into women’s accounts, promoting self-employment.”
He noted the installation of 38,000 km of optical fibre and the connection of 8,400 panchayats to the internet.
“Today, every village has YouTubers discussing politics in their dialect. Ten to fifteen years ago, Bihar faced 22-hour power cuts. Now, it enjoys 24-hour electricity,” he concluded.
