Patna, Sep 18 (NationPress) Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday criticized Lalu Prasad Yadav, the national President of RJD, asserting that neither he nor other members of his family can foster development in Bihar.
“Lalu Yadav, Rabri Devi, and Tejashwi Yadav are incapable of advancing Bihar,” he remarked, emphasizing that a stronger NDA translates to a more prosperous Bihar.
Targeting the opposition over allegations of corruption, Shah stated, “In his lifetime, Lalu Prasad Yadav has achieved less than what the NDA has provided for Bihar during its tenure. Their legacy is riddled with scandals—such as the fodder scam, land-for-jobs scam, and jail scam. On one hand, there is their corrupt regime from when they held power, and on the other hand, stands the Modi government, which is free from corruption.”
While addressing a gathering of selected party workers from 10 districts in Dehri, Rohtas, the Union Home Minister asserted that, unlike other parties where leaders win elections, in the BJP, it is the workers who drive victory.
He pointed out that the people of Bihar have already experienced the governance of the RJD and its allies, stressing that prosperity cannot arise from a rule based on extortion and violence.
Encouraging the youth to rally behind the NDA, he urged, “If the youth today aspire to progress and embrace development, the only path is to fortify the NDA government in the upcoming elections.”
Shah called upon party workers to strive for securing victories for 80 percent of NDA candidates in the region.
He also criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Voter Adhikar Yatra, labeling it a 'Save the Infiltrators' movement.
He questioned, “Should infiltrators be entitled to ration cards, Ayushman cards, or voting rights?”
Highlighting the successes of the Nitish Kumar government, he mentioned that 125 units of electricity are now provided free of charge, and social pension amounts have been increased.
Shah urged workers to disseminate the NDA’s message to every household, firmly stating that the future of Bihar rests with the NDA.
He commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his unwavering dedication, noting that in his 24 years as Prime Minister and Chief Minister, he has never taken a single day off.
In a subtle jab at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Shah commented, “In contrast, there is someone who vacations abroad every six months.”
Shah underscored the achievements of the NDA government.
“Our government initiated Operation Sindoor, executed airstrikes to teach adversaries a lesson—actions never before taken. We have constructed the Ram temple in Ayodhya, and a grand temple dedicated to Goddess Sita is underway in Sitamarhi. The reduction in GST slabs will significantly benefit the common people of Bihar,” he explained.
While acknowledging setbacks in the Shahabad region, Shah admitted that the BJP-NDA did not perform well during the 2020 Assembly elections but urged party workers to intensify their efforts this time.
“Visit every doorstep and inform the public about the measures taken by the double-engine government. We need improved performance in Shahabad and Magadh regions to secure 80 percent of Bihar’s seats and establish a majority government in the state,” he urged.
