New Delhi, Oct 24 (NationPress) Union Home Minister Amit Shah delivered a powerful address at a rally in Siwan on Friday, sharply criticizing RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav and the opposition coalition. He evoked memories of Bihar’s “dark years” during the rule of Lalu and Rabri, as well as the notorious gangster-politician Mohammad Shahabuddin.
Speaking to a large audience, Shah remarked, “For two decades, this land of Siwan suffered under the jungle raj of Lalu and Rabri. This region saw oppression, violence, and numerous murders during that time. Yet, the courageous people of Siwan stood tall and ended that reign.”
Shah praised Siwan as the birthplace of India’s first President, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, and honored its legacy of bravery and defiance. He criticized the RJD for its alleged corruption, stating, “What did you achieve in 20 years—other than scams? You were embroiled in fodder, land, power, job, and railway hotel scandals. Even relief schemes were not spared.”
Referring to the late Shahabuddin, who was a former RJD MP and instilled fear in Siwan, Shah recounted, “For two decades, notorious criminal Shahabuddin, with numerous criminal cases and jail sentences, terrorized Siwan. He even committed heinous acts against a businessman’s sons. Despite this, the people of Siwan never gave in. Today, Lalu has given a ticket to Shahabuddin’s son from Raghunathpur. But under Nitish Kumar and Narendra Modi, even if 100 Shahabuddins arise, they cannot threaten you.”
Defending CM Nitish Kumar, he expressed that it was he who liberated Bihar from lawlessness and steered it towards progress. “Previously, Nitish stood alone, but for 11 years, the double-engine government of PM Modi and CM Nitish has revamped Bihar,” he asserted.
Shah also made comparisons regarding national security, highlighting how the NDA’s approach to terrorism differs from past governments, saying, “When Congress and Lalu-Sonia were in power, terrorists were treated with kindness. Under PM Modi, we executed surgical strikes, air strikes, and Operation Sindoor in Pakistan.”
Concluding with confidence, Shah proclaimed, “Lalu’s son’s campaign has faltered even before it began. Their alliance is crumbling. The people of Bihar have made their choice—only PM Modi and Nitish can guarantee safety, development, and dignity.”
