Patna, Nov 3 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday launched a direct attack on the Mahagathbandhan's chief ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav, questioning why he seemed “ashamed” to mention his father's name.
Speaking to a large crowd in Katihar, the Prime Minister remarked that the citizens of Bihar possess a deeper understanding of politics than what is usually articulated.
“Check the posters of the RJD and Congress. A leader who served as chief minister for several years and introduced Jungle Raj here -- his image has either vanished or is relegated to a tiny corner, barely visible,” PM Modi stated, without explicitly naming Lalu Prasad Yadav, a former Union Minister and ex-Chief Minister of Bihar.
“His entire family is in the electoral fray, so why is he not prominent? Why are they hesitant to mention their father's name? What secrets are they concealing from the people of Bihar?” the Prime Minister queried.
PM Modi also criticized the RJD-Congress coalition for what he labeled as “appeasement politics” and alleged their support for infiltrators in Katihar and nearby regions.
“The people of Bihar and the nation have the primary right to the country's resources. I will not permit anyone to take that away. However, the RJD and Congress favor kattas (country-made pistols) and kattarpanthi (fundamentalists). Whenever the BJP and NDA advocate for expelling infiltrators, they are quick to defend them,” he said.
He further accused the INDIA bloc of yielding to pressure from hardliners, highlighting their resistance to the Triple Talaq law and their alleged intent to repeal the recently passed Waqf Act.
“The reality is -- they have capitulated to extremist factions. Therefore, I urge you to keep the RJD and Congress far from power in Bihar,” PM Modi asserted.
His comments are particularly significant as Katihar district borders Bangladesh and is part of the Seemanchal region, which has a considerable Muslim demographic known to influence electoral outcomes in areas like Kishanganj, Purnea, and Araria.
PM Modi called on voters in Katihar to fully support NDA candidates across the region's constituencies.
Previously, he spoke at another election rally in Saharsa, where he also advocated for development and stability under the NDA administration.
