Patna, Nov 7 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday launched a pointed critique of the RJD-Congress coalition in Bihar, asserting that the Opposition is fostering a culture of intimidation and violence among the youth. He referenced a recent statement made on a Mahagathbandhan platform, where a young supporter boasted about carrying a katta (pistol) when Tejashwi Yadav's government assumes power.
While addressing an election rally in Aurangabad, the Prime Minister remarked: "The individuals representing Jungle Raj possess all the elements necessary to instill a climate of fear, extortion, and kidnapping in Bihar. If they regain power, they will replicate the same tactics."
He continued, saying that the citizens of Aurangabad are well aware of the past, recalling that during the prior RJD–Congress administration, "Naxalism reached its zenith, and traveling at night was deemed unsafe; even riding a bike or scooter was not advisable."
Asserting that the landscape changed only after the NDA took charge in Bihar under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's guidance, PM Modi highlighted that between 2005 and 2014, the initial nine years of Nitish Kumar's governance, the RJD and Congress-led central governments obstructed him from effectively administering the state.
"Post our election victory in 2014, the double-engine government expedited growth. We have allocated three times more funding to Bihar for development initiatives," he stated.
Accusing the opposition alliance of being unreliable even towards its own constituents, Modi claimed that the RJD disrespected the Congress state president and allocated them only those seats they had failed to win in the last 35 to 40 years.
"Can those who betray their own partners be trusted by the people of Bihar?" he questioned.
Furthermore, PM Modi criticized Congress regarding the One Rank One Pension (OROP) scheme for retired military personnel, stating that the party had denied OROP for four decades, citing a cost of Rs 500 crore.
“Upon our government’s arrival, we enacted OROP. The NDA has invested Rs 1 lakh crore in OROP. This reflects the reality of Congress, and the RJD is complicit as well,” he asserted.
The Prime Minister claimed the RJD's manifesto is deceptive propaganda, asserting that even Congress leaders are reluctant to endorse it.
“They are aware of their dishonesty,” he remarked. In contrast, he emphasized that the NDA has pledged one crore jobs for the youth in Bihar, and that the populace has faith in the coalition's promises.
Enumerating the NDA’s previous commitments, PM Modi noted that the alliance has delivered on promises such as the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, and providing Rs 10,000 assistance to women under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana.
“It is our record of fulfilling promises,” he insisted.
He further alleged that the RJD has a history of offering employment in exchange for land, adding: “Their manifesto is misleading.”
Referring to the initial phase of polling in Bihar on Thursday, PM Modi mentioned a record voter turnout of approximately 65%, asserting that Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rahul Gandhi’s parties have been entirely eliminated.
He stated that the people of Bihar will not permit the return of Jungle Raj.
He noted that women voters, in particular, trust PM Modi and CM Nitish Kumar, having cast "bumper votes" for NDA candidates.
PM Modi also took aim at Congress over its agricultural policy, alleging that the party has never prioritized small farmers.
He indicated that the Centre currently provides Rs 6,000 annually via PM-KISAN, and if the NDA returns to power in the state, they would add an extra Rs 3,000, bringing the total annual assistance to Rs 9,000.
