Chandigarh, Dec 16 (NationPress) The leading Opposition party, Congress in Haryana, is set to introduce a no-confidence motion against the BJP administration during the upcoming winter session of the Vidhan Sabha, commencing on December 18.
This decision was made during a meeting of the Congress Legislative Party on Tuesday, presided over by former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda. The state party president, Rao Narendra Singh, was also present.
The assembly meeting focused on various issues the party aims to raise, such as adjournment motions, calling-attention motions, and submissions during the zero hour.
Key topics for adjournment motions include the poor state of sports facilities and equipment in sports complexes, as well as the alleged misuse of government machinery in forming the government.
Additional issues slated for discussion include the preservation of the Aravalli range, compensation for waterlogging, escalating pollution, the paddy scam, MNREGA challenges, increasing drug abuse, corruption, and concerns regarding education and health.
The Congress party also plans to address inflammatory remarks made by BJP MLAs and MPs that incite caste-based animosity. There will be demands for discussions on the status of the SYL canal, the law and order situation, and the status of Chandigarh, the joint capital of Punjab and Haryana.
Moreover, questions will be directed at the government concerning rising unemployment and the perceived prioritization of outsiders in government jobs by the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC).
During the meeting, Hooda asserted that the BJP government was established through questionable means, stating, “They engaged in tactics like offering illegal inducements before elections and creating multiple votes for a single individual. Thus, we will present a no-confidence motion to expose their misdeeds in the assembly,” he informed the media.
The legislative party also expressed approval of the court's ruling to dismiss the chargesheet in the National Herald case.
A resolution of condolence was passed for the late senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Shivraj Patil, as well as former MLA Sahib Singh Saini, with a moment of silence observed in their memory.
