Congress MLA Claims CM Vijayan and Daughter Should Have Faced Jail Time Before Kejriwal

Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 19 (NationPress) First-time Congress legislator Mathew Kuzhalnadan on Thursday asserted that Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his daughter Veena Vijayan would have been imprisoned in her IT firm scandal long before former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. This claim follows the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) informing the Delhi High Court that their investigation into the business dealings has been finalized and they are now waiting for instructions from the authorities to proceed.
It was Kuzhalnadan who initially brought to light the matter concerning the Kochi-based mining company Cochin Minerals and Rutile Ltd (CMRL), which allegedly paid Rs 1.72 crore to Exalogic Solutions, the IT company owned by Vijayan's daughter, purportedly for software services that were never rendered.
His disclosure came in the wake of a media report citing findings from an Income Tax Department statement, prompting him to pursue the case further.
Both the SFIO and the Enforcement Directorate have taken up the investigation.
On Wednesday, the SFIO reported to the Delhi High Court that their inquiry into the business transactions between CMRL and Exalogic has been completed and they await further orders from the authorities. They indicated that Exalogic received substantial payments aimed at influencing a prominent politician.
"There’s no question about it; everyone knows this prominent politician is none other than Vijayan. I raised this issue when it first emerged, and Vijayan claimed his innocence. I challenged him to prove he wasn't involved, and if he does, I would retire from public life and resign as a legislator. To date, he has not accepted my challenge. It’s truly unfortunate that a party like CPI-M is defending Vijayan and his daughter," Kuzhalnadan alleged.
He also suggested a connection between the BJP and Vijayan, likening it to the antics of Tom and Jerry cartoons.
"What’s occurring here resembles the Tom and Jerry show... The cartoon gives the impression that Tom will eventually catch Jerry, but it never happens. In reality, we see a similar scenario unfolding. This ongoing game has resulted in benefits like the BJP securing the Thrissur Lok Sabha seat," he alleged.
The Congress legislator also noted that two High Courts - Kerala and Karnataka - had dismissed petitions filed by the state-owned KSIDC and Veena Vijayan, and now, the same matter has resurfaced in the Delhi High Court.
For pursuing this case, Kuzhalnadan faced accusations of encroaching on government land, leading to a case being filed against him. On Thursday, he reaffirmed his commitment to see the case through to its logical conclusion.
