Jaipur, Feb 27 (NationPress) Congress legislators have maintained their boycott of the Assembly sessions on Thursday by staging a dharna outside the legislative building.

They are protesting in support of six colleagues who faced suspension due to their disorderly conduct during demonstrations regarding a Minister’s comment about former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

In the meantime, the Question Hour continued without their participation. Additionally, Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Diya Kumari is scheduled to present the government’s response to the budget discussion on Thursday, where she is anticipated to make numerous announcements.

MLAs who have voiced demands for their respective constituencies might also see their issues discussed.

The former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot visited the Congress MLAs protesting outside.

In comments to the media, Gehlot criticized the government for being stubborn and unwilling to resolve the situation. He called on the ruling party to set aside its pride and engage in meaningful dialogue.

State Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra even offered to personally apologize to the Speaker, questioning what more could possibly be done. Despite the Congress MLAs holding a sit-in the day before, no government representatives approached them for discussions.

The budget discussion has been stalled since last Friday due to remarks made by Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Avinash Gehlot regarding Indira Gandhi. Congress MLAs have only participated in the debate for a single day, and a resolution to this deadlock remains unclear.

Whether the Leader of Opposition Tika Ram Jully will speak during the budget discussion hinges on ongoing efforts to resolve the impasse. Should the situation not improve, he will refrain from speaking. If the deadlock continues, the Finance Minister will present the government’s response to the budget debate without the Congress MLAs, which is an unusual occurrence in the history of the Rajasthan Vidhan Sabha.
