Does the Half-Naked Protest at the India AI Summit Reveal Congress' 'Anti-India' Mentality?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Feb 21 (NationPress) In response to the demonstration by Youth Congress members at the India AI Summit, the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) condemned the act, asserting that a half-naked protest at such a significant event highlights the Congress' 'anti-India mentality'.
VHP National Spokesperson Vinod Bansal stated to IANS, "By engaging in a half-naked protest at the summit, Congress workers have laid bare the party's true colors. Their anti-India mentality has been revealed for all to see."
Bansal expressed astonishment over certain Congress leaders allegedly labeling the protest as revolutionary and likening it to the actions of freedom fighter Bhagat Singh.
"I am astonished that some Congress figures are calling this a revolutionary act and comparing it to Bhagat Singh's legacy. They should feel embarrassed. There is a limit to shamelessness. In opposing the Union government, one should not become so blinded that it turns into opposition against the nation itself," he remarked.
Bansal also raised issues regarding security, claiming that such protests undermine law enforcement measures at high-profile gatherings.
"You cannot compromise security and create disturbances. This behavior is unacceptable. Congress should issue an apology to prevent similar incidents in the future," he added.
Drawing a parallel with previous events, Bansal referenced protests during the visit of US President Donald Trump to India in 2020.
"At that time, under the guise of CAA protests, unrest erupted in parts of East Delhi. Such occurrences suggest a recurring pattern in these types of protests," Bansal asserted.
He commended the Delhi Police for their response and advocated for stringent actions against those involved.
Following the shirtless protest by Indian Youth Congress members during the India AI Impact Summit 2026, the organization shared a photo of Mahatma Gandhi on social media to defend their dramatic display.
On Friday, Youth Congress activists protested inside New Delhi's Bharat Mandapam during the elite India AI Impact Summit, chanting slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Central government regarding alleged issues of unemployment, inflation, and the reported India-US trade deal.
