Mysuru, Nov 25 (NationPress) The BJP has declared plans to hold events throughout Karnataka from November 26 to December 6 to celebrate Constitution Day and to honor Dr. B. R. Ambedkar.

During a press briefing, the Leader of the Opposition in the state Legislative Council, Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, mentioned that these activities will be conducted following the directives of the party president.

November 26 is recognized as Constitution Day.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated the observance of Constitution Day to pay tribute to the Constitution and to respect Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, he remarked.

He criticized the Congress for imposing Emergency during Indira Gandhi's era while now claiming to hold 'Save the Constitution' demonstrations.

Claiming that the historic party defeated Dr. Ambedkar in his initial election, Narayanswamy stated, "At that time, deeply hurt, Ambedkar expressed that the Congress resembled a burning house devoid of a future for anyone who entered it."

Stating that Ambedkar's statements are "coming to fruition", the BJP leader asserted, "The Congress has transformed into a sinking ship. Even the INDIA bloc refrains from embracing Congress leadership. The party's stature as a national entity has diminished."

He highlighted that the BJP has elevated Ambedkar's five revered locations into national memorials.

Narayanswamy contended that it was the BJP, not the Congress, that initiated the observance of Constitution Day and the commemoration of Ambedkar's legacy.

For numerous years, the Congress office did not showcase Ambedkar's photograph, but it has recently begun to do so, merely to "safeguard" its Dalit vote bank.

He lambasted the longstanding party, stating that the Bharat Ratna was awarded to J.L. Nehru, Indira Gandhi, and Rajiv Gandhi, but they "failed" to accord respect to others.

"Had Congress maintained power, they would have conferred the Bharat Ratna upon Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi as well," he jested.

Point of View

It is imperative to observe the BJP's commitment to honoring Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and the Constitution. While the party emphasizes its dedication to these values, it also critiques the historical actions of the Congress party. This juxtaposition reflects ongoing political dynamics and public sentiment regarding constitutional matters in India.
