Kolkata, May 31 (NationPress) The CPI(M) Polit Bureau, on Saturday, strongly criticized the deportation and push-back of alleged Bangladeshi nationals at the Indo-Bangladesh border. They have urged the government to address the situation by following the appropriate legal procedures for those who have entered the country illegally.
“Following the terrorist incident at Pahalgam, the state governments led by the BJP and the Central government are specifically targeting Bengali-speaking Muslims, pushing many into Bangladesh without proper verification. Reports indicate that some authentic Indian citizens have also been wrongfully arrested and deported. Those individuals labeled as foreign nationals by Foreigners Tribunals, yet awaiting appeal decisions in the Assam High Court and the Supreme Court, should not be forcibly sent back. Such actions are unacceptable,” stated the CPI(M) Polit Bureau.
The party also accused the Assam government of pursuing divisive communal policies and noted that they have chosen to arm the ‘indigenous people’.
“This is a perilous move with significant implications. The government needs to uphold law and order while simultaneously preventing infiltration. Simply pushing back individuals and targeting certain communities is not a viable solution,” the statement emphasized.

Both parties represent two sides of the same coin,” a BJP state committee member commented.
