CWC Gathering in Belagavi: Congress to Launch 2025 Strategy on December 26

New Delhi, Dec 24 (NationPress) The Congress party has declared its intention to reveal a strategic framework for the upcoming year after a significant Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting scheduled in Belagavi, Karnataka, on December 26. This meeting will focus on the challenges confronting the nation under BJP governance, including economic disparity and the decline of democracy.

During a press briefing, General Secretary K. C. Venugopal stated that the CWC gathering will address an action plan and program for the Indian National Congress for the coming years, accompanied by two resolutions.

"The meeting will explore the pressing issues that the nation faces under BJP governance, such as economic inequality, the erosion of democracy, and assaults on constitutional institutions. This event will mark a pivotal moment for the Indian National Congress," he stated.

General Secretary Jairam Ramesh mentioned that a 'Jai Bapu-Jai Bhim-Jai Samvidhan' rally is also set to take place in Belagavi on December 27.

He noted that the extended CWC meeting, which will host around 200 leaders, has been titled 'Nav Satyagrah,' commemorating the 100th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi's announcement of the Satyagrah movement from this very city. "It is anticipated that two resolutions concerning the future direction of Congress will be adopted during the four-hour meeting," he added.

"Mahatma Gandhi served as the president of the Indian National Congress when he declared the Satyagrah precisely 100 years ago," he remarked.

Elaborating on the plans to commemorate the centenary of the 39th Congress session led by Mahatma Gandhi in Belagavi, Venugopal stated, "This was the only Congress session that was presided over by Mahatma Gandhi."

"We take immense pride in this event. The Congress party and those who support nationalism are honored by this monumental movement. Gandhiji's address in Belagavi emphasized non-violence, non-cooperation as a method to achieve political freedom, eliminating untouchability, fostering unity among communities, addressing socio-economic inequalities, and reaffirming the principles of justice and equality," he explained.

He highlighted that these were the essential themes of Gandhiji's speech in 1924, and the Belagavi session became the foundation of the freedom struggle and socio-economic reform, adding that the session was attended by eminent national leaders, including Motilal Nehru, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Lala Lajpat Rai, Sarojini Naidu, and Vallabhbhai Patel.
