Patna, Sep 22 (NationPress) The Congress Working Committee (CWC) is set to convene its inaugural meeting on Wednesday at the Sadaqat Ashram in Patna.
This significant event will see attendance from Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, along with all 170 committee members, ahead of the crucial Bihar Assembly elections.
During a collaborative press conference held at the Bihar Congress headquarters, state party President Rajesh Ram and party's state in-charge Krishna Allavaru and Shakeel Ahmad Khan characterized the forthcoming session as a historic gathering for both the party and the state.
Emphasizing the venue's significance, Rajesh Ram highlighted that in 1921, freedom fighter Maulana Mazharul Haq contributed 21 acres to establish Sadaqat Ashram, which became a pivotal center of India’s independence movement.
It was within these walls that Mahatma Gandhi, Rajendra Prasad, and Jawaharlal Nehru strategized for the freedom struggle, with the Champaran Satyagraha marking a crucial beginning.
Congress Legislative Party (CLP) leader Shakeel Ahmad Khan took the opportunity to deliver a scathing critique of the NDA government, accusing them of exploiting Bihar for two decades and the nation for the last eleven years.
"Now is the time for Bihar and the nation to liberate themselves from their (NDA government's) exploitation. The meeting at Sadaqat Ashram will convey a powerful message against the oppression of ordinary citizens, women, and youth. Over two crore people have been compelled to migrate, and Congress is battling against such injustices," Khan stated.
At this gathering, Congress is anticipated to pass several vital resolutions, aiming to galvanize support for the Bihar Assembly elections while intensifying its critique of both state and Central governments.
Bihar Pradesh Congress in-charge Krishna Allavaru mentioned that the upcoming CWC meeting in Patna would not solely focus on Bihar but will also address significant national issues, including inflation, unemployment, and atrocities against women, referring to a government that he claims bows to US President Donald Trump.
In a sharp rebuke of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Allavaru said, "PM Narendra Modi is akin to a student who avoids studying to enhance his marks. He resorts to cheating and stealing to pass his exams. Narendra Modi and Amit Shah win elections through vote theft."
He asserted that crime rates are escalating in Bihar due to negligence from law enforcement and state authorities, while examination malpractices remain unaddressed.
"When students voice their demands, they face police brutality. The BJP and NDA garner this boldness through vote theft," he claimed, asserting that Congress has unveiled such practices nationwide.
Highlighting the party's outreach initiatives, Allavaru pointed to Congress campaigns such as the "Stop Migration, Give Jobs Yatra" and the "Voter Adhikar Yatra", which he stated have effectively persuaded people to resist vote theft.
Regarding seat-sharing negotiations within the INDIA bloc alliance, he mentioned that discussions are progressing smoothly and positively.
"We will collaborate to resolve the seat-sharing matters effectively. Everything, including the Chief Ministerial candidate, will be determined in due course," he concluded.
