Bengaluru, Dec 13 (NationPress) Intensifying its critique of the Congress-led administration in Karnataka regarding the allocation of funds designated for the welfare of Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST), the BJP claimed on Saturday that the 'Dalit anyay' (injustice) linked with Rahul Gandhi's political maneuvers has been unveiled in the state.
Leader of the Opposition R. Ashoka asserted that approximately 31 percent of the funds specifically allocated for the advancement of SCs and STs have been misappropriated since 2023 to support the Congress government’s so-called guarantee initiatives.
“This is not welfare; this is blatant theft of SC/ST entitlements. Resources intended for Dalit hostels, education of SC/ST scholars, entrepreneurship, livelihoods, and housing have been misused for populist agendas,” Ashoka accused.
He criticized Rahul Gandhi’s slogans, remarking, “And then the theatrics -- ‘Jitni Abadi, Utna Haq’ and ‘Samvidhan khatre mein hai’.”
“This is Dalit anyay. This is ‘Adivasi vishwasghaat’. This is vote-bank politics undermining social justice,” he claimed.
Ashoka further contended that while Rahul Gandhi preaches to the nation holding the Constitution, governments of his party are “detracting from the very communities the Constitution aims to safeguard.”
“Dalits don’t need slogans. They require their rightful financial allocations. They demand accountability. They seek justice -- not deceit,” he stated.
The BJP leader called upon Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar to “cease the plundering of SCSP/TSP (Scheduled Caste Sub Plan and Tribal Sub Plan) funds and halt the exploitation of Dalits for electoral advantages.”
“The misuse of funds allocated for Dalits is the Siddaramaiah government’s so-called achievement,” Ashoka alleged.
He further accused Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of deceiving Dalit leaders and implementing “anti-Dalit policies,” asserting that funds amounting to Rs 25,000 crore under the SCP/TSP meant for Dalit welfare have been diverted under the guise of guarantee schemes.
“Is this your interpretation of social justice, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah? Is this your pledge to Dalits?” Ashoka questioned.
Ashoka also alleged that masquerading as guarantee schemes, the Congress-led Karnataka government had “looted the state’s treasury, hindered development, and betrayed the impoverished, farmers, women, and youth.”
