New Delhi, Dec 8 (NationPress) Following the devastating fire incident at Goa's Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub in North Goa, one of the club's owners, Saurabh Luthra, shared his initial public remarks on Monday, expressing that he is "deeply shaken by the tragic loss of lives".
The catastrophic fire resulted in the loss of 25 lives and has led the government to escalate its efforts in scrutinizing the nightclub chain more closely. Goa Police has issued a lookout notice for the absconding owners amid claims that the venue was permitted to operate without proper documentation.
In his Instagram post, Luthra conveyed his sorrow, stating that the management is "deeply shaken by the tragic loss of lives", as he paid tribute to those who lost their lives.
"The management expresses profound grief and is deeply shaken by the tragic loss of lives resulting from the unfortunate incident at Birch. In this moment of irreparable sorrow and overwhelming distress, the management stands in unwavering solidarity with the families of the deceased and the injured, extending heartfelt condolences with utmost sincerity," he shared on Instagram.
Luthra further stated that the establishment would offer "every possible form of assistance, support, and cooperation" to the grieving and affected individuals as they navigate this period of profound anguish.
Earlier that day, Goa Police issued a lookout notice against the absconding nightclub proprietors, Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra of 'Birch by Romeo Lane'. Officials reported that both individuals fled Goa shortly after the incident and are suspected of trying to exit the country. As a precaution, all airports and police stations have been notified.
Goa Police emphasized the necessity of the lookout notice due to strong suspicions that the duo may attempt to flee internationally.
Meanwhile, four individuals associated with the case were presented before the Bardez District Court late Sunday night. The court has placed all four managers in police custody for six days.
They are currently held at Anjuna Police Station and have undergone nearly eight hours of questioning regarding the fire incident and the location of the missing owners.
In another related matter, Goa Police, with assistance from Delhi Police, apprehended a man named Bhola, who is linked to the absconding owners. Investigators are looking into his connections to the nightclub and to Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra. Delhi Police are working closely with their Goa counterparts as part of the ongoing investigation.
Additionally, the individual responsible for the club's operations has also been detained. A police team traveled from Goa to Delhi to take Bhola into custody, and he is now being returned to Goa for further investigation.
