New Delhi, Sep 23 (NationPress) The Directorate General Resettlement (DGR), operating under the Ministry of Defence’s Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, organized a significant employment fair for former armed forces personnel in Delhi where 26 companies presented over 100 job opportunities, as reported by an official on Tuesday.

The event saw participation from more than 300 retired and retiring officers from the Armed Forces who were in search of employment, according to the Defence Ministry official.

Held on Monday at the United Services Institution of India, the fair served as a platform for officers to demonstrate their technical and administrative skills honed during their service years, the official stated.

The selected officers will undergo interviews and screenings, leading to roles in various fields such as Supervisory, Technical, Management, Administration, and Strategic advisory positions.

This initiative allows corporations to benefit from a pool of experienced, disciplined, and skilled officers. The Job Fair is a part of DGR’s ongoing mission to create second career opportunities for ex-servicemen.

This initiative is critical as it aids retired armed forces personnel in transitioning smoothly into civilian life by linking them with meaningful job opportunities that align with their discipline, leadership abilities, and technical skills.

In July, a similar fair was conducted in Ahmedabad at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Auditorium, located at the Ahmedabad Military Station in Shahibaug, benefiting nearly 800 ex-servicemen.

Major General Gaurav Bagga, General Officer Commanding 11 RAPID, graced the job fair as the Chief Guest.

These fairs aim to connect ex-servicemen with job prospects across various sectors, including security, operations, hospitality, healthcare, engineering, and technical services. Participants were required to bring their ESM identity card and copies of their curriculum vitae.

Employers can register at no cost and enjoy benefits such as free stall allotments, job postings, and access to the biodata of registered candidates.

This initiative is aimed at utilizing the vast resource of disciplined, trained, and skilled ex-servicemen for roles such as personal security officers, supervisors, drivers, engineers, technicians, and machine operators.
