Defenders of Foreign Occupiers: Naqvi Responds to Akhilesh Yadav's 'Shivling' Comments

New Delhi, Dec 30 (NationPress) Addressing the remarks made by Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav regarding the 'excavation' of the residence of Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister based on his assertions of a 'Shivling' located beneath it, BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi condemned him for his remarks, which he deemed unjust, intended to attract support from a specific voter base. Naqvi urged the SP leader to stop acting like a defender of foreign occupiers.

In a conversation with IANS, Naqvi stated, “Certain individuals are attempting to position themselves as protectors of foreign invaders and engage in unlawful activities. They mistakenly believe that such antics will serve their political interests. Every communal unrest is manipulated into a chance for political excavation, but it will not yield any positive outcomes.”

These comments arise amidst ongoing excavations in several districts of Uttar Pradesh, including Sambhal, which have turned into a controversial topic in state politics. Former UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, commenting on the current excavations, took a jab at UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, sarcastically suggesting, “Excavations are occurring throughout the state. We suspect a Shivling lies beneath the CM's official residence as well; perhaps they should commence digging there too.”

BJP national spokesperson Prem Shukla also criticized Akhilesh Yadav regarding his peculiar statements on excavations and questioned why he objects to every action taken by the state administration.

Responding pointedly to Akhilesh's comments, he asked, “Does this imply that Akhilesh Yadav himself buried a Shivling in the CM's residence? If he has suddenly developed an affinity for Shivlings, he should bring his claims to court and obtain a ruling to substantiate it. Otherwise, this is simply unfounded rhetoric. During his tenure as Chief Minister, did he conveniently overlook events like the Maha Kumbh?”

In response to Congress's criticisms regarding mismanagement during the state funeral of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Naqvi remarked, “Manmohan Singh was never a necessity but merely a burden for the Congress Party. When he was alive, they did not accord him his rightful recognition, and now, following his demise, they are blaming us for not honoring him. Shortly after his remains were cremated, the Congress party transformed it into a political issue.”

The Congress had previously condemned the Centre, alleging negligence and apathy from the state during Manmohan Singh's state funeral, labeling the arrangements a shocking display of indifference.
