Prayagraj, Jan 28 (NationPress) The Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra issued a request on Tuesday to the devotees of Lord Ram residing in nearby regions of Ayodhya, urging them to postpone their visit by 15-20 days. This request aims to prioritize the darshan for those traveling from distant locations, amid an extraordinary influx of visitors during this auspicious time.

With the commencement of the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj from January 26, both Ayodhya and Varanasi are experiencing a significant surge in devotee numbers, complicating the state administration's ability to manage the crowd effectively. The Mauni Amavasya snan, scheduled for January 29, is expected to attract an even larger number of pilgrims.

The Ram Temple Trust took to X on Tuesday to discuss the ‘urgent situation’ created by the overwhelming number of devotees and called on those in nearby areas to delay their trips to the Ayodhya Dham.

Champat Rai, the Trust's chairman, stated, “In the past three days, we have seen an unprecedented rise in the number of devotees visiting Ayodhya ji. Given the population and expanse of Ayodhya Dham, accommodating such a large crowd for darshan of Ramlala in a single day has become exceedingly challenging, resulting in difficulties for the devotees.”

He further stressed the importance of adjusting current systems to avert any potential mishaps.

“We kindly request that devotees from nearby areas plan their visit for 15-20 days later, allowing those from farther regions to have a more convenient darshan of the Lord. This adjustment will enhance the experience for everyone,” Champat Rai appealed.

He also encouraged local devotees to consider visiting after Basant Panchami (February 2), as the weather conditions will likely be more favorable.

It’s worth noting that the primary bathing event of Mauni Amavasya is set for January 29 during the Kumbh in Prayagraj, where an estimated 10 crore devotees are anticipated to partake in the sacred dip. Subsequently, many of these devotees are expected to travel to Ayodhya by train or road after their holy immersion in Prayagraj.
