New Delhi, Jan 8 (NationPress) Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva on Thursday appealed to the city's Mayor, Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh, to take into account the requests of local villagers seeking a waiver of property tax on residences located in areas designated as Lal Dora or residential zones situated away from agricultural lands.

This request arose after a meeting with a group of residents from Delhi's rural communities.

During this meeting, Singh was present alongside the delegation representing Delhi's rural population.

The delegation, headed by Chaudhary Surender Solanki, Pradhan of Palam's 360 villages, presented a memorandum advocating for the removal of house tax in Lal Dora regions.

Participants in the delegation included Chaudhary Naresh (Lado Sarai), Suresh Shaukeen (Nangloi), Azad Shaukeen, Sunil, Ramkumar Rana, Rajeev Beniwal, and others.

The delegation articulated to Sachdeva that individuals living in Lal Dora areas maintain a deep-rooted connection to their rural lifestyle, and imposing house tax on them is not only unreasonable but also an unfair financial strain.

They called for complete exemption from house tax in Lal Dora areas and requested this exemption to be implemented immediately.

In response, Sachdeva assured the delegation that the BJP has consistently supported the interests of Delhi's rural communities and the regions classified as Lal Dora.

He emphasized that Lal Dora areas represent an essential part of Delhi's foundational identity and that the residents there will not face undue harassment.

Sachdeva urged the Mayor to respond positively to this request at the earliest and stressed the need for a clear relief policy to be established at the municipal level to alleviate public concerns and confusion.

The Mayor attentively listened to the delegation's issues and promised that suitable measures would be implemented at the municipal level concerning house tax in Lal Dora areas, prioritizing public interest.
