Shivpuri (MP), Jan 9 (NationPress) Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region, Jyotiraditya Scindia, emphasized the significance of two memoranda of understanding (MoUs) signed on January 7 with Union Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
During a public event in Badarwas (Shivpuri), he reiterated the government's dedication to implementing real-time monitoring of fertilizers, ensuring that farmers receive transparent and prompt supplies.
He highlighted the second MoU aimed at empowering rural women economically through training facilitated by India Post Payments Bank.
This initiative enables women to open accounts in villages, offering opportunities to earn between Rs 15,000 and Rs 30,000 per month and thereby enhancing financial inclusion at the grassroots.
On that day, he also inaugurated a modernized sub-post office in Badarwas, describing this historic site, located near an ancient temple, as completely revamped with state-of-the-art amenities for public service.
He pointed out that this advancement is part of the postal modernization initiative launched in 2009, which has successfully upgraded 50 post offices across the region.
Earlier, he dedicated new cutting-edge sub-post offices in Kolaras and Jagatpura within the Shivpuri district.
He stressed that these enhanced facilities will serve as “windows to the world,” providing accessible, timely, and reliable postal services equipped with world-class infrastructure.
Emphasizing the role of postal workers, the Union Minister stated that a postman does more than just deliver mail: “He carries emotions from one home to another and even across borders.”
Drawing from popular culture, he referenced actor Sunny Deol's famous line about the arrival of letters, adding that today's postman delivers a bank along with the letter.
He highlighted the significance of Post Office Savings Bank, insurance schemes, and the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, describing the latter as a seed nurtured by parents that grows into a banyan tree securing daughters' futures.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Communications Minister expressed optimism that India's Postal Department will soon gain global recognition for its service quality.
He reaffirmed the government's pledge to deeply integrate postal services into citizens' lives, ensuring modern, citizen-centric, and reliable access for all.
