Scindia, has inaugurated six revamped post offices in various locations across Madhya Pradesh during his official visit from January 8-11. Additionally, the Minister introduced two forthcoming India Post services—Speed Post 24 and Speed Post 48. Among the newly inaugurated facilities are Sub-Post Offices in Kolaras, Jagatpura, Badarwas, Pichhore, and Katthamil, alongside the City Post Office. These modernized post offices offer enhanced customer services and facilitate seamless access to a diverse array of services from the Department of Posts, including mail and parcel delivery, savings and insurance schemes, digital services, and financial inclusion initiatives.
The upgraded infrastructure is anticipated to significantly boost operational effectiveness and service reach, particularly in semi-urban and rural regions, according to the statement.
In his address, the minister announced the formation of a seventh National Postal Training Centre aimed at fortifying the postal training framework. This initiative will place Shivpuri on par with prominent training institutions in Saharanpur, Vadodara, Mysuru, Guwahati, Madurai, and Darbhanga.
The Minister has set a goal to complete the Shivpuri training centre within 8 to 12 months, urging senior postal officials to accelerate its development. He also announced that the foundation stone would be laid during his next visit and that the inauguration would follow shortly thereafter.
Scindia officiated the inauguration of the upgraded Pichhore Sub-Post Office, which involved a renovation cost of Rs 2 lakh, and laid the foundation stone for a new Sub-Post Office building projected to cost Rs 1.11 crore.
The Department of Posts is dedicated to modernizing its infrastructure, utilizing technology to enhance last-mile connectivity, foster inclusive growth, and support the Government’s vision of delivering responsive, accessible, and efficient public services, the minister concluded.
