New Delhi, March 17 (NationPress) In an effort to enhance India’s logistics capabilities, Union Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia officially unveiled three new premium delivery services from the Department of Posts in the capital city on Tuesday.
The newly introduced services—24 Speed Post, 48 Speed Post, and 24 Speed Post Parcel—are crafted to facilitate quicker and timely delivery across major urban centers.
The launch was graced by Minister of State for Communications, Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, alongside top officials from the postal department.
This initiative is part of a larger government strategy aimed at modernizing India’s logistics framework and enhancing delivery performance.
During the launch, Scindia remarked that this initiative signifies a pivotal advancement for India Post as it seeks to transform its operations and offer improved services to customers both domestically and internationally.
“Today, we announce to millions of our customers globally that under the visionary guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India Post is dedicated to serving every citizen across this nation as well as our international clientele,” Scindia declared.
The Department of Posts rolled out these services following extensive pilot tests conducted over the last three months.
The 24 Speed Post and 24 Speed Post Parcel services promise next-day delivery among six major metropolitan cities—New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad.
Features included with these services encompass real-time tracking, OTP-based delivery confirmation, and compensation for delays.
Furthermore, deliveries will be executed on Sundays and holidays, with the exception of national holidays.
In addition, the 48 Speed Post service guarantees delivery within two days between the same cities.
This service aims to provide a dependable and timely solution for document delivery, complete with tracking and SMS notifications.
Initially, these services will be available in the six metro cities, with plans for phased expansion to other Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities.
This development is anticipated to greatly benefit e-commerce businesses, startups, small enterprises, and individual customers by facilitating faster parcel movement.
