New Delhi, Dec 23 (NationPress) The government provided guidance to India Post on Tuesday, urging it to embrace a proactive and strategic methodology for business advancement, particularly in engaging with businesses and entities that contribute significantly to GST.
Dr. Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar, the Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development, emphasized the need for establishing specialized marketing teams in each postal circle. These teams would be responsible for daily monitoring of leads, conversions, and revenue, and he encouraged circle heads to utilize their regional strengths—considering local geography, industry presence, and business prospects—to execute tailored growth strategies.
During a review meeting aligned with the quarterly monitoring framework established by Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Dr. Pemmasani also mandated that all performance indicators—mail and parcel operations, savings, and insurance—must harmonize public welfare with financial prudence.
The reviews are designed to promptly identify issues, facilitate swift corrections, and guarantee that India Post consistently achieves its service and performance targets.
Covering all 24 postal circles, the discussions concentrated on operational efficiency, financial inclusion, logistics expansion, and tech-driven reforms in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a Viksit Bharat.
Recognizing India Post’s unparalleled network, the Minister of State urged for the optimal utilization of resources to fortify delivery services and broaden savings and insurance coverage, thereby addressing the nation’s logistics requirements.
The minister praised the Karnataka Circle for its robust grassroots performance and successful customer acquisitions. He also commended the Northeastern Circle for opening 154,000 new savings accounts, mobilizing ₹276 crore under PLI/RPLI, and executing structured MSME outreach. The Minister of State remarked that catering to over 1.4 billion citizens through the postal network is both a responsibility and an opportunity, asserting that efficient services, digital integrity, and financial prudence are pivotal to transforming India Post into a self-sufficient, future-ready institution.
