Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Jan 22 (NationPress) India Post has established a bold revenue goal of Rs 17,546 crore for the financial year 2025–26, considerably surpassing the previous year’s figures, as stated by Union Minister for Communications and Development of North-Eastern Region Jyotiraditya Scindia on Thursday.
During the Quarterly Business Review (QBR) meeting for the third quarter of FY26, Scindia highlighted that the organization is consistently transitioning into a parcel- and logistics-oriented entity to address the increasing demands of e-commerce and services focused on citizens.
Senior officials and Heads of Circles from across the nation assessed the performance of India Post across its primary business segments during this meeting.
“India Post has already generated Rs 10,155 crore in the initial three quarters of FY26, positioning it strongly to meet its annual target,” Scindia remarked.
“This advancement indicates a strategic pivot towards logistics, integrated supply chains, and enhanced service delivery,” he noted.
“While the overall growth trajectory remains encouraging, core segments such as Parcels, Mail, and International Mail have not reached anticipated performance levels,” the minister observed while evaluating the Q3 results.
He emphasized that the future growth of India Post hinges on fortifying these essential services and insisted that parcels and mail should operate at their full capacity.
Scindia urged major circles including Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and Delhi, which collectively account for nearly 60% of India Post’s business potential, to swiftly implement best practices.
Performance varied by circle, with Rajasthan being the top performer overall, achieving 82% of its Q3 targets.
Karnataka excelled in the Post Office Savings Bank sector, reaching 112% of its goal.
Citizen Centric Services witnessed remarkable growth, with Delhi recording a 240% achievement, followed by Maharashtra at 166% and Rajasthan at 165%.
Uttar Pradesh led in the Postal Life Insurance category with 129% achievement, while Rajasthan had impressive performance in mail operations with 153%.
Looking forward, Scindia called for strong peer learning, encouraging underperforming circles to adopt successful strategies from Punjab, Delhi, Rajasthan, and Telangana.
He stressed the necessity for clear accountability, measurable outcomes, and zero tolerance for non-performance while ensuring equitable contributions from all circles.
