Guna, Jan 9 (NationPress) Union Minister for Communications and the Development of the North Eastern Region, Jyotiraditya Scindia, announced on Friday that the 4G network will achieve full coverage across rural areas of the nation by June 2026.
He mentioned that India boasts more than 120 crore mobile users, and expanding the reach of the 4G network to every corner is pivotal for realizing the 'Digital India' initiative championed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Scindia made this declaration during an event held in the Shivpuri district, part of the Guna Lok Sabha constituency in Madhya Pradesh.
"The nation is experiencing remarkable progress under Prime Minister Modi's leadership. By June 2026, the 4G network will be accessible in every village across the country," he stated.
During this event, Scindia inaugurated a sub-post office in the Badarwas region of Guna and congratulated the local community for this noteworthy development.
He urged residents to open bank accounts at the post office to benefit from various state and central government programs.
"This modernized sub-post office will facilitate your pensions, subsidies, and savings. Additionally, our postmen will serve as vital links in empowering rural India, fostering self-reliance, and connecting to Digital India," he expressed while congratulating the inhabitants of Badarwas.
Furthermore, Scindia highlighted that the India Post Department recently formalized two agreements with the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, aimed at boosting economic empowerment in rural areas, particularly for women and farmers.
"One agreement focuses on real-time monitoring of fertilizers and enhancing transparency in their distribution, while the other aims to economically empower women," he noted.
The agreements were finalized in the presence of Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Scindia in New Delhi on January 7.
Under these agreements, the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and the Department of Posts will create a nationwide logistics framework for transporting samples of pesticides, seeds, and fertilizers to designated laboratories.
India Post will manage all logistical needs from collection to final delivery for inspectors of pesticides, seeds, and fertilizers.
This collaboration is part of the PAN-India online management system for pesticide, seed, and fertilizer quality, being developed by the Centre for Research and Industrial Staff Performance (CRISP).
