New Delhi, April 21 (NationPress) The Delhi BJP commenced a campaign to raise awareness about Waqf Reform aimed at showcasing the public welfare aspects of the new Act and addressing misinformation that is reportedly being circulated by political adversaries.

The strategy for this initiative was established during a meeting at the Delhi BJP state office, attended by Minority Morcha National President Jamal Siddiqui and Delhi State General Secretary Vishnu Mittal.

Siddiqui emphasized that the campaign will furnish the community with comprehensive details regarding the advantages the Waqf Act is set to offer to the Muslim community.

Also present at the meeting were Programme Coordinator Atif Rasheed, Minority Morcha Delhi State in-charge Qari Mohammad Haroon, and President Anees Abbasi, along with several district presidents and state team members.

Siddiqui asserted that the public awareness initiative is planned at the block level until May 5 to combat the 'misinformation' propagated by the Opposition concerning the Act, targeting the residents of Delhi.

Siddiqui clarified that the BJP-led Central Government does not aim to diminish the Waqf Board.

“In fact, the intention is to fortify it, and amendments have been introduced for this purpose,” he remarked, encouraging Muslims to comprehend the motivations behind the Act.

He indicated that through this legislation, the BJP administrations in various states will liberate Waqf properties from unlawful encroachments and advocate for the rights of impoverished and marginalized Muslims.

“The Act will assist in addressing those who have unlawfully taken over Waqf properties,” Siddiqui noted, adding that the legal provisions will open avenues for the welfare of Muslims.

During this event, BJP State General Secretary Mittal stated that the Waqf Board had become emblematic of corruption.

“While protecting the rights of the Muslim community, the Act will facilitate the release of encroached Waqf land for the benefit of the needy,” he affirmed.
