Authorities have suggested that the car bomb incident in Delhi, which resulted in the deaths of 12 individuals and numerous injuries, is linked to militant activities.
Following questioning of Dr Shaheen Shahid, one of the doctors from Al-Falah University apprehended in relation to the Delhi terror scheme, investigators uncovered that these operations were conducted through various social groups.
It was revealed that Dr Shaheen Shahid served as a mentor for these groups. Sabir Ahmed, a prisoner in Nadia, was reportedly active in this network. The investigative team has discerned that Ahmed promoted anti-India rhetoric and incited anti-national actions periodically.
According to police sources, on the night of November 12, the Special Task Force, in conjunction with the Palashipara police, apprehended Ahmed's brother, Faizal Ahmed, in the Bara Naldaha region of Nadia district. However, authorities have not confirmed whether he was subsequently arrested.
After this development, a source indicated that Sabir allegedly continued his anti-national activities while incarcerated and may have links to the Delhi blast.
In a statement to the media, Uttam Ghosh, Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) of Krishnanagar Police District, commented, "The STF apprehended Sabir's brother recently. Nonetheless, we currently lack information about Sabir's involvement in the blasts."
It is noteworthy that the National Investigation Agency (NIA), in a joint operation with the West Bengal Police, has detained an MBBS student of Al-Falah University, Nisar Alam, in connection with the car explosion.
This individual was taken into custody from Dalkhola in North Dinajpur district last Friday after investigators tracked his mobile phone's location.
