New Delhi, Sep 15 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Delhi, Rekha Gupta, on Monday presented internship appointment letters to 87 young individuals selected for the Delhi CM Internship Programme. She described this initiative as a groundbreaking step in cultivating future policymakers and enhancing the vibrancy of democracy.
During the launch of a three-day orientation program for the CM Internship, CM Gupta highlighted that the interns were chosen from a pool of 9,000 applicants through a completely transparent process. This marks the first time such a program has been implemented in the capital.
“This initiative transcends a mere internship; it is foundational for constructing a new India,” stated the Chief Minister.
Offering guidance, she encouraged the interns to advocate for data-driven decision-making within governmental departments. “Your innovative ideas will always be embraced. With your collaboration, we aim to transition our efforts from social media to tangible actions, propelling both Delhi and the nation forward,” she emphasized.
Criticizing previous administrations for their inadequate engagement with youth, she remarked: “Former internship programs operated with political motives and were aimed at benefiting select individuals financially. In contrast, our approach is transparent, aiming to introduce fresh perspectives and dynamic decision-making to enhance governance.”
In a message shared on X, CM Gupta declared: “Today, at the Delhi Secretariat, we distributed internship appointment letters to these energetic and talented youth. This program is inspired by the Hon'ble Prime Minister @narendramodi Ji's PM Internship Scheme and represents a new approach to infuse youth ideas into the governance framework.”
“Following three days of training, the selected candidates will embark on a three-month paid internship across various departments of the Delhi government. This experience will allow them to collaborate with officials, comprehend administrative processes, and contribute their insights. Guided by our Prime Minister, our administration is dedicated to empowering youth and linking them to the essence of nation-building,” she conveyed on X.
