New Delhi, Nov 13 (NationPress) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced on Thursday that the government has amended administrative regulations to significantly improve career progression for more than 250 officers within the Accounts Service.
The government has promptly upgraded and integrated the role of Accounts Officer in the Accounts Service into the rank of Senior Accounts Officer (Group ‘A’ Gazetted), as stated in an official announcement.
The Chief Minister emphasized that this groundbreaking decision will create enhanced career opportunities for Accounts Service officers and further fortify the administrative structure.
CM Gupta remarked that this initiative represents a significant leap forward in the government’s continuous efforts towards administrative reform.
She confirmed her approval for the elevation and merger of the Accounts Officer role into that of Senior Accounts Officer (Group ‘A’ Gazetted) effective immediately.
This decision is in line with the directives issued by the Ministry of Finance (Department of Expenditure), the Controller General of Accounts (CGA), and the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, she added.
According to the Chief Minister’s Office, the position of Accounts Officer (Group ‘B’ Gazetted), previously categorized at Pay Level- 9 in the Pay Matrix, has now been upgraded and unified into the Senior Accounts Officer (Group ‘A’ Gazetted) at Pay Level- 10.
As a result, all current Accounts Officer positions in the Delhi Government Accounts Service will now be redesignated as Senior Accounts Officer (Group ‘A’ Gazetted) in Pay Level- 10 of the Pay Matrix, according to the statement.
The Chief Minister’s Office indicated that corresponding adjustments have been made in the feeder cadre. Consequently, the role of Assistant Accounts Officer (Group ‘B’ Gazetted), which was at Pay Level- 8, will now act as the feeder cadre for promotions to the post of Senior Accounts Officer.
