Delhi Elections: BJP Poised to Offer 500 Units of Complimentary Power for Temples and Gurudwaras

New Delhi, Jan 9 (NationPress) With the Aam Aadmi Party presenting an array of freebies ahead of the upcoming February 5 voting for the Delhi Assembly elections, and the Congress already announcing a monthly benefit of Rs 2,500 for women to challenge AAP's growing welfare schemes, the Bharatiya Janata Party is expected to unveil its own set of incentives and giveaways to remain competitive.

The BJP is preparing to introduce new measures designed to resonate with a broader segment of Delhi's voters.

Among the significant proposals under consideration is a free electricity initiative, as per sources.

It is anticipated that Delhi consumers will be granted up to 300 units of free electricity each month, according to insider reports. Currently, the AAP-led Delhi government provides complimentary electricity for up to 200 units monthly. Under the existing system, consumers utilizing 200 units or less receive free electricity, while those consuming between 201-400 units obtain a 50 percent subsidy.

In an effort to further appeal to religious communities, the BJP is contemplating extending this electricity benefit to places of worship such as temples and gurudwaras.

Reports indicate that these religious institutions could receive up to 500 units of free electricity each month, which would not only benefit the devotees but also aid the organizations in lowering their operational expenses, allowing them to focus on social and charitable efforts.

The BJP's proposed initiative to provide free electricity to gurudwaras and temples in Delhi may serve as a direct response to Arvind Kejriwal's commitment of Rs 18,000 monthly for pujaris and granthis.

Furthermore, the BJP is reportedly devising a strategy to ensure free and clean drinking water for the residents of Delhi. This plan may include enhancing the water supply infrastructure and guaranteeing that every household in the capital has access to safe drinking water.

Lastly, the BJP is said to be preparing a new women-focused scheme, potentially similar to the Ladli Behna Yojana. This initiative aims to empower women in the area through financial support, promoting their economic involvement, and enhancing their overall well-being. The program is expected to fortify the party's appeal among female voters, providing them with a sense of safety and independence.
