New Delhi, May 29 (NationPress) Delhi's inaugural Ayushman Arogya Mandir is set to commence operations at the Tis Hazari Court complex. Formerly a Mohalla Clinic, this facility has undergone significant upgrades and redesigns to enhance healthcare services under a new model.
The official launch is scheduled for May 31, presided over by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. This event coincides with the celebration of 100 days of the current Delhi government's tenure, which will also see the introduction of 33 new healthcare facilities at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
The newly established Ayushman Arogya Mandir boasts a variety of features that differentiate it from previous offerings. It provides in-house diagnostic services with 14 types of medical tests readily available at the clinic. Additionally, outsourced testing options will facilitate access to 79 more diagnostic tests through the centre.
The facility is also aligned with the National Immunisation Programme, ensuring that routine vaccinations are available on-site. Furthermore, yoga classes will be conducted every Monday and Friday, along with comprehensive family planning services, including pre- and post-pregnancy care.
Operating hours for the centre will be daily from 9.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m., staffed by a medical officer, a nurse, a multipurpose health worker, and a sanitation worker.
Previously, the Mohalla Clinic at this location offered only basic doctor consultations, and most tests required external facilities. Essential services like vaccinations were not available. Now, under the innovative Urban Ayushman Arogya Mandir model, all critical health services are being consolidated under one roof. The local community is eagerly anticipating the opening of the Arogya Mandir. The BJP government in Delhi is committed to broadening health services through these centres.
This initiative by the Delhi government aims not just to improve healthcare quality but also to enhance accessibility for the general public.
