Will PM Modi Return to Power in 2029?

New Delhi, July 25 (NationPress) The BJP on Friday celebrated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for surpassing the record set by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, thus becoming India’s second-longest serving Prime Minister in a single uninterrupted term.

Marking this significant milestone, the party emphasized that it is not merely a point of pride but also a reflection of ongoing public confidence, asserting that PM Modi has forecasted his return to power in the 2029 general elections.

In a statement to IANS, BJP leader Rohan Gupta remarked, "This achievement is a product of the people's will, and the credit belongs to them. It showcases their steadfast trust in Prime Minister Modi. He has honored that trust, and together with the citizens, he has propelled the nation to greater heights. The GDP, employment rates, and national sentiment are all on a favorable path."

BJP leader Danish Azad Ansari added, "This is not the only remarkable achievement—Prime Minister Modi has reached numerous milestones. He is the sole Prime Minister born after Independence, which is a significant accomplishment."

BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal stated, "This clearly indicates that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the torchbearer of Indian democracy and the most beloved leader in the nation."

Karnataka BJP President B.Y. Vijayendra highlighted, "What’s even more noteworthy is that PM Modi is the only non-Congress Prime Minister in our nation’s history to have consecutively served three terms."

Bihar Minister Neeraj Singh Bablu expressed, "Narendra Modi is the most distinguished Prime Minister India has ever known. We take pride in having the world’s most popular leader represent us. Under his leadership, India is set to take the lead in global development."

BJP MLA Atul Bhatkhalkar asserted, "In the 2029 elections, the BJP will triumph again, and PM Modi will reclaim his position as Prime Minister. His tenure is not just about duration but also about achievements. Initiatives like Operation Sindoor and the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana have made a significant impact, and I extend my gratitude to PM Modi for this."

BJP MP Kangana Ranaut also shared her views, saying, "During the Congress era, our nation faced a dark chapter. While we respect the accomplishments of every Prime Minister, our current PM has shattered all previous records and continues to work diligently to meet public trust and expectations."

BJP Spokesperson S. Prakash stated, "This is an extraordinary achievement by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. After winning three consecutive elections, he has now outstripped Indira Gandhi’s record."

JD(U) leader Madan Sahni remarked, "He will be serving for many more years. He is an exceptional Prime Minister steering the nation forward and enhancing India’s global reputation. His strong responses to neighboring countries attempting to spread terror are unprecedented. He has advanced the nation, and the populace is satisfied with his leadership."

Madhya Pradesh Minister Vishwas Sarang emphasized, "He has now earned the title of the second-longest serving Prime Minister in India's history. He has undoubtedly set new standards in governance—from foreign policy to economic reforms, from bolstering the economy to creating jobs, and initiating new schemes to empower women with increased representation."

JD(U) leader Ashok Choudhary expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Modi, praying for his longevity and hoping for his continued efforts to actualize the vision of making India the world’s third-largest economy.

On the other hand, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury offered a differing viewpoint, stating, "Indira Gandhi was assassinated while in office, and her tenure was cut short by terrorists. Similarly, Jawaharlal Nehru’s time in power ended abruptly due to his sudden death. Thus, there is no need to discuss record-breaking here."

Notably, on July 25, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi completed 4,078 consecutive days in office, surpassing Indira Gandhi’s 4,077-day tenure from January 1966 to March 1977.

This achievement marks a pivotal chapter in PM Modi's political career. Beginning as Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2001, he has governed elected administrations—both at the state and national levels—for nearly 24 years, a feat unmatched by any other Indian Prime Minister.

He is also recognized as India’s longest-serving non-Congress Prime Minister and the first to complete at least two full terms in office. Moreover, PM Modi is the only non-Congress Prime Minister to have achieved a clear majority independently in a Lok Sabha election and the first since Indira Gandhi to be re-elected with an outright majority.
