Johannesburg, July 25 (NationPress) - Union Minister of State for External Affairs, Pabitra Margherita, engaged in discussions with Thani Mohamed-Soilihi, France’s Minister of International Partnerships, during the G20 Development Ministers’ Meeting (DMM) in Johannesburg, South Africa.
They focused on the 4Ps (Planet, People, Peace, and Prosperity), emphasizing a mutual interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI), reforming the global financial architecture, and enhancing disaster resilience.
“It was a pleasure to meet Thani Mohamed-Soilihi, Minister of International Partnerships of France on the margins of the G20 Development Minister’s Meeting. We discussed the 4Ps and continued our shared interest in AI, international financial reform, and disaster resilience,” Margherita shared on X.
In addition, he is expected to conduct a bilateral meeting with Maropene Lydia Ramokgopa, the South African Minister in the Presidency for Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation, along with other ministers responsible for development and delegates from various G20 members, invited nations, and international organizations participating in the DMM.
The MoS arrived at Kruger National Park in Mpumalanga, South Africa on Thursday after a successful visit to Lesotho and Eswatini to attend the G20 DMM.
Margherita expressed enthusiasm about engaging in “meaningful discussions” with stakeholders from G20 countries and invited nations to address critical global development challenges.
The G20 Development Working Group Ministerial Meeting is currently being held at Kruger National Park.
South Africa will serve as the G20 President from December 1, 2024, to November 30, 2025.
