New Delhi, May 28 (NationPress) The Delhi Police submitted a status report to the court on Wednesday regarding the issue of derogatory posts allegedly made by journalist Rana Ayyub, against whom an FIR has been lodged.
As per sources, the status report was presented in the Saket Court, where it was indicated that the details concerning Rana Ayyub's X account are still pending.
The authorities mentioned that once the information about the X account is received, they will continue their investigation.
Furthermore, the police noted that during their examination of the X account, the allegedly derogatory posts were identified.
Delhi Police stated that after they get a response from X, the investigation will proceed, and the case will be concluded.
Previously, the Saket Court had instructed the Delhi Police to file an FIR against Rana Ayyub.
In January of this year, the Delhi Police lodged an FIR against Rana Ayyub following the court's direction concerning the derogatory posts.
The FIR was initiated based on a complaint from Advocate Amita Sachdeva under relevant legal provisions.
The complaint alleges that Rana Ayyub has utilized her platform to insult revered Hindu deities, undermine Indian unity, and provoke hostility against India, including disparaging the Indian Army.
Additionally, the complainant asserted that Rana Ayyub had made several derogatory posts on X from 2013 to 2017, which were deemed to insult revered Hindu deities, propagate anti-India sentiments, and incite religious discord.
