New Delhi, Oct 3 (NationPress) A five-year-old girl, who was separated from her family while enjoying the fair, was successfully reunited with her loved ones in Delhi, according to police reports on Friday.
The young girl, originally from Begusarai in Bihar, lost sight of her parents amid the bustling atmosphere of the Ramlila Mela in Dwarka.
In a proactive move, Dwarka DCP Ankit Singh established 'Khoya Paya' booths throughout the Ramlilas in Dwarka District, where police personnel assisted in reuniting missing children with their families.
For this specific case, several teams were formed, including Chowki Incharge Sector 10 Dwarka Sub Inspector Rajat Malik, head constables Kedar Singh Gurjar, Kamlesh, and Shaitan Singh, all coordinated by Rajesh Kumar Sah - SHO of Dwarka South police station under the guidance of Kishore Kumar Rewala, ACP Dwarka.
Upon finding the lost girl, the police officers comforted her to gather any details about her parents.
Due to her young age, she struggled to provide adequate information regarding her family.
To expedite the reunion, images were showcased on digital platforms and screens throughout the fair, encouraging families to reach out to the authorities.
Police teams made public announcements with descriptions of the missing girl.
Upon hearing the announcement, the distressed family arrived, and after completing the identification process, the little girl was joyfully handed back to her mother.
“Witnessing the family reunited was truly heartwarming! The mother’s joy was indescribable upon seeing her daughter,” stated the police report.
Previously, two children were also reunited at the 'Ramleela Mela' with police assistance.
During the ongoing Durga Puja and Vijayadashmi celebrations, a multitude of people flocked to the pandals and melas, indulging in rides and sweets.
However, instances of children getting separated from their families were reported, prompting police support in tracing the lost kids.
The 'Khoya Paya' initiative proved essential in reuniting lost individuals, especially young children, with their families during the festivities that concluded on Thursday.
