New Delhi, Oct 3 (NationPress) In a remarkable rescue operation, the Delhi Police on Friday successfully saved a 7-year-old boy who had been kidnapped from the national capital and transported to Haryana.

The official statement from Vikaspuri Police Station revealed that the child was abducted by a man named Ajay Verma, a former partner of the boy’s mother, who allegedly used the child as a pawn to manipulate her into returning to him.

The alarming situation began on September 28, when the mother lodged a complaint at Vikaspuri Police Station, reporting that her son had not arrived home from school the day before. She suspected Ajay Verma, a resident of Hansi, Haryana, of having kidnapped the child. The motive soon became chillingly evident: Verma was attempting to extort the complainant into rekindling their relationship.

Under the leadership of Garima Tiwari, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Tilak Nagar, a dedicated team was assembled under Inspector Rajveer Singh, SHO Vikaspuri, and led by Inspector Deepak Dahiya, with SI Sandeep Yadav at the forefront of the investigation. An FIR (No. 349/25 under sections 137(2)/140 BNS) was promptly registered.

Acting swiftly, the team analyzed CCTV footage near the school and identified two individuals abducting the child on a motorcycle. Despite Verma’s attempts to evade capture by repeatedly turning off his mobile phone, the police utilized advanced surveillance methods and social media tracking to trace his digital footprint.

A breakthrough occurred when Verma’s associate, Ajay (a resident of Vikaspuri), was located. It was revealed that Verma had reached out to him via Instagram to procure a pistol. His questioning led the police to a farmhouse in Hansi, Haryana, where Verma was hiding along with the kidnapped child and two accomplices.

A sub-team that had been stationed in Hansi for three days took immediate action and rescued the child unharmed. The suspects, including Verma, were apprehended at the scene. Meanwhile, Ajay (from Delhi) was also detained, and a country-made pistol was recovered from his residence, resulting in an additional case under the Arms Act.

The four individuals arrested include: Ajay Verma, 24, the primary suspect, a mobile repair technician in Hansi with no prior criminal record; Amit, 18, a tent worker from Hisar, who provided shelter to Verma post-kidnapping; Sachin, 20, a factory worker with a previous Arms Act case; and Ajay (Delhi), 20, a sweeper who transported the kidnappers to Hansi.

The police disclosed that Verma had developed an obsessive possessiveness during his previous relationship with the complainant. After she ended their relationship due to his abusive and suspicious behavior, he devised a plan to kidnap her son to coerce her into returning. Threatening messages sent to the mother hinted at potential harm to the child if she did not comply.

In an impressive operation spanning Delhi and Haryana, the Delhi Police solved the case rapidly, ensuring the safe return of the child and dismantling what appeared to be an emerging kidnapping syndicate. The recovery of an illegal weapon and the arrest of all suspects have conveyed a strong warning to criminal elements.

A team, already present in Hansi for three days, was dispatched to the location, leading to the discovery of Ajay Verma in a farmhouse in District Hansi with the kidnapped child and two accomplices. The child was successfully rescued without harm, and the suspects were detained.

The successful retrieval of the kidnapped child within a short timeframe, along with the apprehension of all conspirators and the confiscation of an illegal weapon, has not only restored community trust in the police but also delivered a powerful message to anti-social elements.
