During a series of raids, authorities recovered a substantial 51.5 kg of ganja (marijuana), Rs 1,02,510 in cash, and an i10 car utilized for transportation, as reported by the Delhi Police on Wednesday.
The operation was spearheaded by SI Jagbir Khatri under the guidance of ACP Vidhushi Kaushik, initiated after extensive surveillance on drug dealers active in the North District.
Following a tip-off on November 25, a police team executed a raid at a residence in B-Block, Kamal Vihar, Burari, where a suspect named Jitender alias Jitu was apprehended while selling ganja.
“Upon searching his residence, officials recovered a total of 6.132 kg of ganja and Rs. 1,02,510 in cash. Consequently, a case was registered under FIR No. 1101/25 u/s 20/25 of the NDPS Act at PS Burari, Delhi, and the investigation was commenced,” stated the Delhi Police in a press release.
During questioning, Jitender disclosed that he obtained the illegal substance from various suppliers, including Sabita Devi and Ram Kumar.
Acting on this information, a raid was conducted the next day at J-Block, Swaroop Nagar, resulting in the arrest of Sabita Devi, from whom 1.542 kg of ganja was confiscated. She admitted to acquiring the drug from her brother-in-law Anil, who resides in Banaras.
Meanwhile, technical surveillance was employed to locate Ram Kumar. On the night of December 1 and 2, police tracked him near Ghaziabad Railway Station, but he escaped, prompting a 25-km pursuit.
He was ultimately apprehended near Badkal Mall Metro Station, Faridabad while delivering a shipment to his associate Brijpal.
Authorities seized 30.431 kg of ganja and the i10 car from them.
“During interrogation, Ram Kumar revealed that he and his accomplice Arun Roy, both originally from Bihar and residing in a rented apartment in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, had been procuring ganja from their source in Tripura for the past year, distributing it throughout Delhi and the NCR regions,” stated police.
Based on his information, Arun Roy, aged 40, a resident of Village Paharpur, District Vaishali, Bihar, was apprehended on December 2, 2025, from Yusufpur Chak Sahaberi in Noida, UP.
