Patna, Dec 3 (NationPress) The Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister of Bihar, Samrat Choudhary, has sanctioned three significant construction initiatives totaling Rs 27.57 crore aimed at enhancing police infrastructure in Nawada, Samastipur, and Lakhisarai this Wednesday.

The administration asserts that this decision will fortify police housing, improve working conditions, and further enhance law-and-order frameworks throughout the state.

Choudhary stated that the NDA government prioritizes police modernization and infrastructure enhancement.

Improved facilities for police personnel are expected not only to boost efficiency but also to foster more effective judicial and security services.

In Nawada district, the construction of 12 individual housing units and 6 group housing units for police personnel has been approved. This initiative falls under the jurisdiction of Narhat Police Station.

The total project cost is Rs 8.28 crore, aiming to provide modern, secure, and comfortable housing for officers stationed in the area.

In Samastipur District, the Home Department has earmarked Rs 6.86 crore for building a combined facility for the Scheduled Caste/Tribe Police Station and the Women's Police Station, which includes furniture and necessary infrastructure.

This facility is designed to enhance service delivery and accessibility for vulnerable communities and women seeking police support.

In Lakhisarai district (Police Lines), funding of Rs 12.41 crore has been approved for constructing a 300-bed barrack for male constables, complete with furniture and internal infrastructure.

The Deputy CM emphasized that these initiatives underscore the government's dedication to promoting good governance by ensuring police personnel have the resources and facilities to effectively fulfill their responsibilities.

Choudhary confirmed that technical approval for all three projects has been granted, with construction work set to commence shortly.

"These new facilities will significantly enhance police housing and working environments across Bihar. Under the guidance of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, good governance has been firmly established in Bihar," Choudhary remarked.

He noted that the Bihar Police now operates with clear timelines—identifying criminals within 72 hours and ensuring prompt justice for victims.

The NDA government, he indicated, remains committed to continually fortifying the policing system, both in structure and operation.

The state Home Minister also mentioned a recent development, stating that the government has approved the transfer of 51.40 acres of land for establishing a Constable Training School in Banka.

This is part of a broader strategy to modernize training and enhance the capabilities of the police force.

Point of View

I find the recent approval of Rs 27.57 crore for police infrastructure in Bihar to be a commendable step towards enhancing law enforcement capabilities. This investment not only signifies the government's commitment to public safety but also addresses the pressing need for improved working conditions for police personnel. Such initiatives reflect a broader trend across India, where state authorities are increasingly focused on modernizing their policing frameworks to better serve citizens.
