Patna, July 18 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday detailed a range of Central welfare initiatives benefiting the people of Bihar and reaffirmed the Nitish Kumar-led NDA government's commitment to constructing a "new Bihar".
During his visit to Motihari district in Bihar, PM Modi inaugurated numerous infrastructural projects valued at over Rs 7,200 crore and addressed a large audience, emphasizing the government's steadfast dedication to public welfare, contrasting it with the previous UPA regime when the state was "discriminated against".
He noted that Bihar contributes 60 lakh out of 4 crore pucca houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) and criticized the RJD's era of "jungle raj", stating, "During RJD-Congress rule, it was not only impossible for the poor to get such houses but also people feared getting their houses whitewashed. They feared that if they did, they would be abducted."
"In Motihari alone, more than 3 lakh families have received pucca houses so far," he said.
PM Modi further elaborated on how farmers in Bihar will benefit from the recently approved Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana scheme, which aims to identify 100 districts with farming potential that lag in productivity and earnings. This initiative is expected to assist over 1.75 crore farmers, many of whom will be from Bihar.
He expressed that just as Eastern countries have become the driving force for global growth, Bihar should emerge as a growth hub for India.
"The vision of the BJP and NDA is that when Bihar progresses, the nation progresses. Our determination is a prosperous Bihar and job opportunities for every youth," he stated.
To ensure maximum employment for Bihar's youth, rapid developments are taking place across various sectors. "The Nitish government has provided jobs to lakhs of youth in the state. He has established new resolutions for the employment of Bihar's youth, and the Central government is fully supporting this," PM Modi added.
He concluded his speech with a powerful statement, "Banayenge naya Bihar, phir ek baar NDA sarkaar" (We will create a New Bihar, with the NDA government once again).
